I have just registered. Hi to "Alison's Army" and hi Laura and Sandra, and to Elena Navarete Betancort who sent me a wonderful letter via Clerkenwell Films containing two CDs of your music mix and the marvellous edit of clips from AFTERLIFE! I was very touched and moved to receive these. (Unfortunately it took a while to get to me from Clerkenwell Films - not their fault - and I had to get them copied to big CDs to play on my compouter which doesn't take small disks.) It is fantastic that the show I created reaches you in Spain and, more to the point, affects you enough to make sure controbutions and to seek to send them to me. It is of course the only reason to create art and writing of any kind, I think - to reach other people in this way. So I feel I have succeeded if you feel so deeply attached to my characters Robert and Alison in the way that you obviously do. I was sad that the show was cancelled but I was really proud that I was able to bring the story to the proper closure that I wanted (in the final episode "A Name Written in Water". Alison is alone at the end, yes - but she is a stronger and different person because she met Robert - (the first person in her life who cared if she lived or died). If only we could all meet someone who matters so much in our lives, eh? He rescued her and in a way she rescued him, I think. Thank you for watching and listening. I hope the stories continue to give you pleasure on DVD. I am working on a new paranormal TV series for the BBC with Clerkenwell Films, but it is only at the early writing stage - not given the green light yet! - so I had better get back writing and stop doing this! Much love and many thanks again for all your dedication!! I value it very much. regards, Stephen Volk, (creator and lead writer - AFTERLIFE)

Much love and many thanks again for all your dedication!! I value it very much. regards, Stephen Volk, (creator and lead writer - AFTERLIFE) I truly can't believe you're here, Stephen. This is a really beautiful surprise. You know, this is the only "free" morning I get in the whole week and, just by the time I log in ( as I usually do, you see, I'm the administrator, haha) you register! When I saw your name down there I was like "wait a minute..." Ah, well, seriously now. You're great, you really are, and afterlife too, that's why we appreciate so much your work (and Lesley's and Andrew's ) and how you decided to develop the series, due to the circumstances (the cancelling of the show) As you very well say, we do have the same point of view here , NO ONE would have ever cared about Alison like Robert did, and that's so touching and beautiful...everyone wants someone like him in their lifes, I tell you, at least I do! He made her a stronger, better woman, he "saved her life" so I think that's the point of it all, eh? And I do think she saved his in a way. And, let me say it, you SHOULD feel really proud. I am...well, I am trying to at the moment LOL, I am trying to become a screen writer, you know, I made a whole year course about it, I wrote my very first novel and I know how difficult it is to write for the screen and make it effective to the eyes of the audience. You did that. You made us feel a lot of emotions through Robert and Alison, and the series! I'm so glad you liked my video I made it with all my love. As you probably see, we're a creative bunch of friends and when it comes to Afterlife we feel really inspired (I do, believe me, Elena and sandra can tell you, I write about it - with your permission, of course , haha!- make music videos about it, headers (the one on this message board, made by myself) banners, etc. I really enjoy it, and that's because of you and the great job you did. And, yes, I have my DVDs here....from time to time I watch some episode (this is a secret, but my mother got so addicted! Now we're watching it together and it's so great to see the different point of views). Last time it was "The 7.59 club", one of my favs! Well, time to stop my blah-blah-blah now. I will tell the girls to come over here so they can say some words to you, too. Again, thank you for registering and writing. It's such a pleasure to have you here... Much love! Laura. PS: Ohhhhhhhhh let us know about that new project of yours...so intriguing ;D yes, yes, I go now and let you write, hahaha

I'm still gaping like a fish out of water over here... thinking that I might just fall off my bed and wake up on Friday morning all over again hahahaha There aren't enough words to express our gratitude right now, in English or Spanish. You certainly did not have to go through the pain of registering on the board, for you have no obligation to us regarding the package I sent you in the name of these crazy groupies Instead, not only were you not driven away, freaked out or were upset by our contribution to the 'fandom' which carries your signature, but you had the kindest and sweetest gesture of dropping by to say hello. Your response meant the world to us, even before we began with this fangirlistic mail-project, so it's our turn to thank you for your endless patience and giving us the thumbs up Afterlife is thrilling, inspirational and emotional (cult classic material!) in great part because you cooked the mixture with such soul and brilliance and I'm convinced that it will shine on and continue to make an impact on more people as years go by and despite the sure success of your future tv/film projects. By the way, I feel that I must apologize for the inconvenience caused by the not-so-good idea of recording the vid and fanmix in small discs... *blushes* Must have been a mess of getting them to work *hides in shame* Wish you the best luck with that new paranormal show, Stephen. We'll try to keep updated on its progress! Cheers! Gala (Elena Navarrete )
